Dear BFS Families,
In the Reggio Emilia Approach to early childhood education, one of the pedagogical inspirations at Brooklyn Free Space, school is considered to be built on a network of communication between the children, parents, and teachers. These 3 protagonists of the school community work together to create a spirit of collaboration. As a cooperative school, this tenet is naturally aligned with our general approach to relationships at BFS, and administrators, parents and teachers have many intersections in the maintenance, and community building events of the school. We also work to specifically build a connection between teachers and parents/caregivers through regular communication, whether by person, phone or email, and through our classroom community forums and parent teacher conferences.
